How 'Bout Them Rangers!

When you have an 8-0 homestand you take a stand. You tell the rest of the world, "Here we are and if you want a piece of us you are going to have to earn it." So far, no one wants to earn it. Not Houston, not KC, and certainly not Chicago, who everyone is picking to "win it all." With the AL West in the shape that it is, I would like to say the road to the World Series goes through Arlington. I can't say that though, because sooner or later the Angels are going to get Vladimir Guerrero back, and when they do they are going to have a hot streak, probably in September if I know them. I think we can get into the post-season though. Will have to see what transpires I guess. Who do you see in the World Series this year? My biased pick is Texas vs. St Louis. My impartial pick is New York vs. St. Louis.

Need extra cash?

Well, he certainly is straight-forward, isn't he? There was no "Make $1000/wk from home" promises or anything like that...just a simple idea...wish I'd thought of it.

They're down but they're not out!

As this is going to press the Mavericks are down 3 games to 2. However, this team gets backed into a corner and it comes out fighting. The Houston series is proof of that. For those of you who know Randy Galloway, you may have overheard him saying if the Mavs don't win it all this year or at least make it to the championship series vs. the East winner (Gonna be the Heat, just you wait and see), then the city of Dallas will just give up supporting them. It does get frustrating, though...seems like every year they fly into the post-season only to flop...this could be the year...

The Riddler is No More!

Riddle me this: What has four legs, is green and brown, and would kill you if it fell on top of you? Answer: a pool table! Okay, so that one wasn't featured in any episode of "Batman", but it was kinda humorous, eh? Frank Gorshin passed away today. Can't say I ever had a favorite villian, but the Riddler's laugh always made me laugh.

Field Of Dreams

This is on my TV/VCR combo right now. This has to be considered one of the best movies of all time. If you're wondering what it's about you can click here. Burt Lancaster was awesome in this too. I've never seen any of his films other than this one because I'd hate to remember him as anything other than Moonlight Graham. Here is my list of the best on-screen duos in film history. Taken into account were chemistry as well as dialogue because we all know a movie is nothing without some thought behind it:

Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones in "Field Of Dreams"
Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey in "Dumb and Dumber"
Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson in "Batman"
Sigourney Weaver and Paul Reiser in "Aliens"
Ron Livingston(Peter) and Gary Cole(Lumberg) in "Office Space"
Ben Stiller and Robert Deneiro in "Meet The Parents"
Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan in "American Pie"

Any others I forgot? Lemme know!

The George Lucas Experience

Okay, so I never actually met the guy...but dreams are capable of pretty much anything. Had a dream I was hanging out with Lucas in some kind of community rec room and he was showing me all this footage from Return Of The Jedi that no one had ever seen before, including previous ideas for the Millenium Falcon. Then someone came in with a plate of burgers and Lucas practically jumped out of his seat. THEN I had to wait forever for him to eat his burgers and just as he was finishing they brought in a cookie cake! Needless to say, I didn't find out any other information because of George's eating. Ah well. be sure and see Star Wars III: Revenge Of The Sith in the actual theater. From what people are saying you won't be disappointed.

Frog and Toad Are Friends

In what has become the standard in getting kids actually excited about losing the joystick and picking up a book, plus being a personal favorite of my daughter as well as myself, Frog and Toad have become a pop culture mainstay and it's a safe bet they will continue to do so for the next millenium.
